Current Series

March 13 - April 11

How often do we hear a question and then choose to answer the one we want to?  God asks:  do you want healing, do you want life, do you want hope?  Most of the time we are tempted to answer His questions by asking another "How?"  All we really need to say is, "Yes."  We need to get past our sense of guilt and the temptation to fix things on our own to simply want and accept the life He offers.

WEEK ONE - March 13 & 14

Title:  Healing

Text:  John 5:1-15

Teacher:  Jim Liske

It is hard to accept help when we need it, event if the mess we're in has nothing to do with what we've done.  Is it pride?  Embarrassment?  What keeps us from accepting the healing from God that we need?

WEEK TWO - March 20 & 21

Title:  Rest

Text:  John 5:16-17

Teacher:  Jim Liske

Real rest often feels unimaginable.  The pile of tasks we have in front of us keeps growing, and the harder we work at it the larger it seems to get.  Yet, through Jesus, rest if possible.  The question is:  do we really want it?

WEEK THREE - March 27 & 28

Title:  A Real Life

Text:  John 5:18-30 & John 10:10

Teacher:  Jim Liske

How often do we say "I need a life?"  How do we define life?  Where do we go to help us define it?  Books, celebrities, and self-help seminars all offer their own version.  Jesus redefines what life looks like and He asks each of us, do you want real life?

WEEK FOUR - April 3 & 4 (Easter Weekend)

Title:  A Witness

Text:  John 5:31-40

Teacher:  Jim Liske

Do we believe what we see?  What others tell us is true?  We have scripture, we have others' testimonies, and we even have the Spirit speaking to our hearts urging us toward greater faith in Jesus.  The question is:  do we believe?

WEEK FIVE - April 10 & 11

Title:  A Favor

Text:  John 5:41-47

Teacher:  Jim Liske

It is built into us to want to achieve, to desire approval.  We can go to great lengths to get it.  But the ultimate approval comes from God, and it's  nothing we can earn.  Jesus asks us, are we humble enough to admit our need and let Him meet it?
